Date Night

Todd and I are blessed to have such wonderful family who loves to watch Aiden so we get to go out on dates regularly and we always enjoy spending time with each other. A few weekends ago my dad had two extra tickets to the OU vs Kansas game and gave us tickets. Kimberlee offered to babysit Aiden over night so off we went to Norman and stayed the night. We had a lot of fun as usual. We knew Chris and Brandi were going to the game but we never thought out of 85,000+ crowd we would run into them, but what do you know Chris called Todd as we were pulling in to park and they were on the exact street we were. Crazy HUH!!! We called them after the game and told them we were headed to eat if they wanted to join us. I saw a Salt Grass and had to stop. We hadn't eaten at a Salt Grass in like 4 years and I loved it so much and was so sad that Oklahoma didn't have any but of course Norman would be the first place in OK to get one and boy was I a happy girl! It is so good!!!! We had a nice dinner with the Howells and then Todd and I got Stacy to go to priceline at like 9:30 at night and get us a cheap but nice room (she was so proud of herself for getting us such a great room!) and we decided to stay the night. We slept in for the first time in a long time and then we went to the mall and walked around Penn Square for a while and then had lunch at the Pepperoni Grill which was amazing. I wish our Italian food joints had tortellini but most of them don't so I was one happy girl when I saw they had cheese tortellini with my favorite pesto Alfredo sauce! Yummy! Then we headed home to pick up the love of our life and he was happy to see us. It was a fun over night date night for us!

Happy Birthday Kimmie

My sisters birthday was on Thursday (sorry its a late post) but had it not been late you wouldn't have this wonderful picture of her at her dinner at Teds. Of course Teds is always yummy and I always eat way too much. We had a great couple of evenings with the our family and its always nice to stretch our birthdays for as long as we can. Teds was even so gracious to my sister when they sang to her they cut a year off her actual age! I guess she will be 30 forever! The boys had fun and were very good!

My sister is a pre-K teacher and she does a wonderful job. She has a heart for children and loves helping them learn and grow. Any child or parent of a child who enters my sisters classroom has no idea how much they are going to be blessed. She is also a wonderful mother to my sweet nephew Brady. She is so good with him and I wish I had the patience that she does. He looks so much like her and it takes me back to when we were children when I look at him. She was and is an awesome big sister. When we were children she was my protector. She always looked out for me and as we got older she did the same thing and as the annoying little sister I started calling her Mom which she hated and I continued to call her just to bug her. But then we became teenagers and she still put me first, she would always make sure I had the things I needed. I guess this has method of putting others first has just stuck with her because when she went to college she would budget her money mainly her grocery money for her to eat rather lightly (like ramen noodles a lot) so she could save her money to buy children's books for her classroom one day. Now that same method has moved on to her husband and son. I know they know how blessed they are to have such a wonderful wife and mother and I too a sister, but sometimes it helps for us to hear it, So Kimberlee I love you very much! You are the best big sister a girl could ever ask for and I am very thankful for you. May you have another blessed 30th year!!!

Happy Belated Birthday

So my mom was in Israel on her birthday so I didn't post. So here is her birthday post from me. She is a wonderful mom who has always given more of herself and taken even less. She knew what she wanted for her children and that was enough to make her determined we wouldn't live what she did as a child. She taught us that love is the most important thing you need (besides Jesus), all the other stuff doesn't matter (it can make things nice sometimes, but you truly don't need it). I honestly believed that every one went to college it was just the next step after high school. I cant remember when she started telling us we were going to college, but I can never not remember! She wanted to make sure that we had more than she did and that we knew she believed in us and that whatever we set our minds to, we could accomplish. She loves the Lord with all her heart and is such a great servant. She has a heart for people who are hurting and just need to be loved on. But it makes sense looking back at my childhood, this has always been the person she is. She couldn't love her grandsons anymore and loves to spend time with them. She melts every time she hears "mimi" and she lets them get away with things my sister and I would have never gotten away with. She gives great mom advice and I think my mom was so determined to make a difference in us that why wouldn't I look to her for great advice on how to parent my children. But sometimes it can be a catch 22 because you know she loves our children and she wants to spare them any "unnecessary" spankings!!! (hehe) She is a great mom and I hope she always knows how much she means to us. I love you mom and I know your birthday was perfect! I am glad you got to be there on your birthday!

The Fair

we went to the fair the other night and had a lot of fun. I love to go to the fair every year but Todd isnt that big on it so it is hard to get him to go. so this year with promises of missing out on aiden having so much fun he said ok. We went with the Howells and we really enjoyed going. I over ate like always but finally got my fried snickers that I have been longing to eat for several years and it was amazing! I probably added 5 pounds that night but it was all worth it! The petting zoo was so much fun. Aiden really liked the baby calf and of course what he thought was a puppy but was really baby goats. He fed the camel with me and didnt like it all too much but he never cried! he got to eat his fair share of sweets and he drank a lot of pop (which I never let him do) so he was happy. I think Hunter and he split almost a full funnel cake! crazy! He was really tired when we got home but he had to have a bath because he was one dirty boy. He zonked out after his bath!
Hunter man was happy to be out of the stroller! Look at that sweet face!

Aiden didnt like the real strawberry, just the smoothie! pretty cute huh!!!
this is this years pic in the cozy coupe and here is last years! (we went with my dad!) He is such a big boy now. =-(
He kept telling this calf aww so sweet aw so sweet!
I am glad we talked Chris and Todd into going cause we had a lot of fun. What could be better, we got to eat all the food we wanted to and the boys got to ride around in cars and pet dirty animals!!!

no pics just a meaningful post to me

Ok so I want to put my blog memories into a book one day so I can always go back and look at what Mr Aiden was up to and how cute he was and is. I am sure his grandparents and aunts and uncles will more than likely read but its more of a silly post for me.

so here goes:

He loves loves loves Emma Rue, but I am not so sure that miss Emma loves him as much as he loves her with the exception of when he is eating then she thinks they are best buddies. He loves to tell her how sweet she is, to stop barking and what a bad dog she is. He is really picking up on what Todd and I say.

He also loves to sing. He can sing the bob the builder song, wheels on the bus, and he attempts the Thomas the train song. He refuses to work on his abc's though.

He loves to talk as well. He really does talk quite well for a two year old boy. We can understand him really well and he can carry on a conversation with us. He understands alot too about the English language. He understands mine very well but he also uses his words like yours, his, hers, but of course I dont correct him when he says "hold you". He has said that for a very long time and I still love to hear it so I dont think I will ever correct him on that one.

He is taking vitamins now and calls them his vit-a-mans. But I am glad he will take his vitamins because he is not really into eating anything of good substance. He would live on Cheetos and waffles and donuts if I would let him.

He is also into the movie cars. He has watched it so much that it wont even play in the dvd player anymore. We are going to buy him another one we just havent yet. I think Todd and I are enjoying the break from watching it so much. But he does love his die cast cars. It started out with just two cars but now we have so many of them I cannot keep up with them. He knows each of them and knows when one is missing. It is crazy how many people love to buy him these little cars.

He can also throw a pretty good tantrum as well. We have entered the terrible twos but they really arent all that bad. I just consider myself blessed to have such a great little two year old boy!

Happy Birthday

My BFF Stacy is turning 29 today. I told her to celebrate this year up right before she hits the big one!!!! Stacy and I have been friends since we cheered in high school together, but it was a couple years after high school that we became such great friends. She is a great friend, wife, mother, and daughter. Those who have her in her life are very blessed. She is always thinking of other people and rarely does for herself. This girl has a nack for finding great deals on just about anything you can imagine. She is also very creative. She can make just about anythings she sees from home decor to her favorite, baby items! I talk to her at least once a day and find myself sad if I havent. It has been this way for at least the last eight or so years. I think vacations are the only reason why we wouldnt have talked at least once in a day (well and one other situation but we wont mention that). Crazy huh!!!! but since we have been like this for so long I couldnt imagine it any other way. She is a basketball wife as well and we lean on each other so much during season. If I didnt have her I would probably go crazy! She knows exactly how I feel and even helps me not get so lonely during season and to most of you that is probably crazy but I know she knows exactly what I mean! Over the years this girl and I have made so many great memories. It all started out from cheerleading and I had no clue it would even go into college much less us staying good friends for many years to come! I love you Stacy and thank you for being such a great friend. Happy Birthday and I hope you have a great one! dont stay at your pitty party too long!!! hehe

Phone Conversation

The other day Kimberlee called and asked if I would talk to Brady because he was in the car and a little unhappy. It reminded me of when I would call her when Aiden was a tiny baby and put the phone on speaker and let her talk to him. It was like magic everytime, he would stop crying. I am sure she got tired of talking to an infant but she would do it everytime I called. So she too put her cell on speaker and handed Brady the phone. The same thing happened. Brady became chatty and laughing. We had a good conversation (as much as an 17 month old can) and then Aiden got a little upset that he wasnt the one talking to Brady. So I handed the phone to Aiden and the two had a 10 minute conversation. Aiden was so excited to talk to his cousin and tell him all about different kinds of animals, cars, trains, but on the clip all you can hear Aiden tell Brady is that he wants to go swim. It cracks me up to see him with the phone in hand and his shake in another. I was so glad I happened to have my camera with me so I could capture this sweet moment on film!

Thank you

What a wonderful birthday this has been. It started early this morning that I started receiving phone calls, emails, and voice mails wishing me a happy birthday and even ended this evening with dinner, ice cream and some very sweet blog posts from friends. Its always nice to know that family and friends care. I love all of you and wanted to say thank you to you all for making my (will call it my getting into my late 20's) birthday very special. I intend on continuing to make the most of it, we are having a girls night tomorrow night where I was told by Todd to buy myself some nice things! and then we will celebrate this weekend with my family and next week Todd's family will take me out for my birthday! Doesn't get much better than that to get four nights of food out of it huh! I like to call it my birthday week!

Again I really enjoyed talking with every one today and thank you for thinking of me!
