poo poo gum

Ok so pretty much all of you know that Aiden has now gone four days using the potty.  We thought this day would never come.  Aiden would fight you tooth and nail not to use the potty.  There wasnt anything we didnt try to get him to start using the potty.  Shaming him didnt even work.  We would get him a new toy or promise him candy.  Still nothing.  Even letting Parker show him how to do it didnt work.  He would just clap for Parker and tell me what a big boy Parker was.  I am not sure what it was but it finally clicked with him and now we are going to be on day five tomorrow of no accidents.  Aiden knows that Parker always got gum after he used the potty so now we have a huge bucket of gum for him.  This was hard for me in the beginning too because he didnt understand the meaning of chewing his gum and not swallowing it.  I am not sure how this one happened either but he understands chewing his gum now too.  Todd said that he was going to make that his number one goal for the summer.  So I guess that means its going to be a good summer...Right?!?!?!  You cant beat Aiden deciding the day before Todd gets out for summer that he wants to start using the potty!!!!  He loves wearing his big boy underwear and has done a really great job of telling us when he needs to go.  I am so proud of my baby boy.  He has had such a big few weeks.  He gave up his bebe's, started using the potty, learning how to chew gum....I am sure this will be a big summer for my big boy!!!

Camping out....in the backyard

Todd decided we needed to camp out in the back yard last night.  Aiden loves to tent camp and we havent got to go in a while so he was so excited when his daddy got the tent out.  But of course when you are camping in the backyard it is really easy to just bring a tv out and watch a movie.  Aiden thought it was so neat to watch a movie in the tent.  We watched monsters inc and then went to sleep.  He slept all night and woke up around 8:40 the next morning.  I didnt sleep all that well but it was awesome weather for tent camping.  I actually got a little cold in the night.  Yes I stayed out there all night!!!! I wasnt going to let my boys have all the fun!!!  We did have a lot of fun!  Maybe soon we will actually go to the lake and camp, but the backyard was fun as well and maybe a little easier too!

How sweet to hold a new born baby

We got to meet Mr Slayden James thursday evening.  He is so very precious.  He looks a lot like his bubba.  I got to hold him for a while on Thursday but I went back on Friday when it was just me and I could sit and hold him without Aiden roaming the room.  I think I held him for 45 minutes on Friday and could have held him a lot longer I just didnt want to bother his mommy and daddy.  Its been so long since I have held a new born and I couldnt even imagine Aiden that small although he was at one point and time.  It was weird seeing Aiden next to him because it made me realize how big my baby is getting.  Slayden is so sweet and was very aware on Thursday but on Friday he slept most of the time I was holding him.  I am so excited for him to be joining the group although there is no telling what his brother and Aiden will put him up to!

date weekend

Todd and I got to get away for a night to OKC. Back in January I got Todd tickets to see Jeff Dunham, a really funny comedian, for Valentines day.  He came to the Ford Center.  We stayed at the Sheraton there at Bricktown and we were able to just walk over to the show.  We enjoyed the show very much and were glad to get away with each other for a bit.  I havent laughed like that in a long time.  My cheeks were hurting from laughing so much for a few hours straight. We had planned on going to dinner somewhere in Bricktown before the show but our room clock was off thirty minutes so we didnt have time, we had to get food at the show.  Expensive to say the least but oh well.  We still had fun and we needed a night together.  We decided to sleep in the next morning and then did some shopping before we headed home to pick up our little man, whom had been spoiled by my parents.  So Todd and I had a wonderful time together and Aiden had a great time with his Pops and Nana.
