Aiden the Builder

So most of you know how much Aiden loves Bob The Builder (I cant hardly say that without singing the tune, it drives me crazy!)  My mom thought it would be fun to go out to her school one afternoon because they have lots of equipment out there due to the fact that they are redoing their football field.  It was really muddy but we managed.  Aiden thought he was so cool "driving all the machines"  He was even singing the bob the builder tune while driving them.  Sometimes Aiden will sing "Mommy the builder can she fix it? Yes she can."  I am not sure how I became a builder but oh well its pretty cute.  My sister also had some baby chicks in her classroom so we went to see the chicks too and Aiden thought that was pretty neat.

Blanket Fetish

Aiden has this blanket fetish.  He has to have all of his blankets, all of his puppies, his bear, and at least two bebe's with him nearly at all time when he is in the house but always always when its bedtime.  I don't know what it is but he knows if even one of them is missing and will cry until you go and find it.  He is one silly boy!

Finally Easter Update

So I know Easter was a really long time ago and I am just now getting around to it so I wont say much other than he had a really fun Easter weekend.  We thought it may have turned out otherwise on Thursday evening into Friday morning because he started getting sick but lucky for us it only lasted around 12 hours.  We enjoyed the zoo's Easter event with free train and carousel rides.  Of course the boys loved the free train rides the most!  Then we went out to Owasso's Easter egg hunt where Aiden had a really great time.  After that we headed out to my moms house for a great dinner, egg hunt and our annual Easter egg dying.  We went to Church Easter morning and then off to Granny's house for a yummy Easter lunch and a huge egg hunt in the rain.  And for our last stop we headed to my dads house for dinner and Aiden's last hunt of the weekend.  Aiden really enjoyed all of it but I think he liked the candy the most.  Poor Brady was sick so he didn't really get to take it all in but hopefully next year will be better for him.

Brady did manage to enjoy some of the candy!

Poor guy was so tired of waiting.  He could see all those eggs and just wanted to go get them so bad.

Tickle me Pink

We had a wonderful ladies event at our church the other night and I had the pleasure of going.  I got sit at the table with a few ladies I hadn't yet met and a few whom I do know.  With all the stress I have been under lately I was really excited just to go and laugh and enjoy and evening with no worries.  The food was yummy, the company was great, and the laughter as much needed.  It was a great time!

Fun in the Snow!

It was unfortunate that we had to cancel Brandi's baby shower but we decided to make the most of the snowy weather and go out to her dad's house and play in the snow.  Her dad has lots of land and lives on some hills and has a four wheeler that our husbands thought we be fun to drag our two year old babies behind.  But these two year olds joined right on in on the fun and weren't scared at all of riding in a tube behind a four wheeler.  It was a bit scary for me watching my baby being pulled with no adult in the tube with him but I know they weren't going very fast so there was really no danger in it at all.  Brandi and I stayed out for a bit and played with them in the snow and watched them pull the boys, but then decided to head on in by the fire!  Her dad made us some really good chili, that apparently won him a chili cook off that very week, and watched the basketball games on TV.  You can see in the pics that the boys were really bundled up and didn't really get cold except their faces and hands.  They stayed out there for a really long time.  They had so much fun and Aiden was very sad to see the snow melt the very next day!  This was really the first time that Aiden really got to enjoy the snow.  They made a snowman as well and of course he was a Sooner Fan.  And wouldn't you know that Aiden wanted to name him Frosty!

Much needed weekend

Things have been so crazy for me lately and I really needed a weekend to not think about anything pressing, work, craziness, and just relax and have fun.  The Howells' needed a weekend away as well so off the four of us went to Kansas City with no kids and no plans but just to relax and enjoy ourselves.  And that is exactly what we did.  Neither Brandi nor I took a single picture and we realized that on our way home.  I think we just forgot because all we cared about was being away for a bit.  We stayed at the Marriott in Overland Park and it was very nice.  The guys golfed every day and Brandi and I shopped every day.  Aiden was the recipient of most of my shopping buys but I did manage to buy myself some things as well.  =)  I think it was nice to just do whatever whenever and not be pulled in ten directions at once.  I think with basketball season being over our crazy lives' will slow down and maybe I can learn to relax and not worry so much about things.  We got to eat dinner out every night and not have to think about what I was going to order because of needing to share with Aiden.  Not that I mind sharing with Aiden or putting him first on my entree decision making process but it was nice getting exactly what I wanted for a few dinners.  And I had the most amazing Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory.  Dulce De Leche (carmel overload) was amazing and it is now my favorite.  Brandi had found out about this place named the Legends at Village West.  It is this huge shopping center on the outskirts of West Kansas City and it was awesome!  I think we got started shopping around noon and we finished up around 5:30 and the sad thing was we didn't get all of it done.  But it was enough shopping for me!  Brandi was such a trooper and I probably should have taken it easier on her!  It was fun for us to even go in target and just browse.  We also got to see a couple of movies while we were there and that was nice too.  We even got to sit in the hot tub for a bit.  I am so glad we got the chance to get away and enjoy a few days.  But I did miss my baby very much and have enjoyed being with him the past few days.  I think it was good for me to get a break and it made me enjoy him all the more!

Aiden and his buddies

We went out to the Austins the other night for dinner for some good ole grilling hamburgers and hotdogs.  The boys always have fun when we get together.  The weather has been so wonderful lately and we knew they would love to play outside.  Todd had taken Aiden and his four wheeler earlier in the day to ride with Todd's parents so it was in the back of the explore so we got it out and let the boys ride.  They all had a lot of fun.  Hunter has gotten pretty good at driving it and Eli loved it (as you can tell from the pic!)  We all had a lot of fun and we all are glad that warmer weather is finally here so we can have more cookouts.

We'll call this one "I got a fish"

Todd decided we should take Aiden fishing yesterday afternoon and we all had so much fun.  I caught 2 and Aiden caught I think 5!!!! He had a lot of fun but I think Todd and I enjoyed watching him more than anything.  He would scream each time he got one "I got a fish!"  I love the belly laughs too and he had plenty of those when he would see the fish.  He also got a little bored of fishing and decided to throw rocks into the pond.  He kept yelling Perfect every time he would throw one.  Todd and I were laughing saying "man there is alot of perfect in that boy" just joking around but Aiden took us serious and kept telling us he had a lot of perfect!  Todd was the only one who didnt get to catch a fish because he was too busy helping Aiden and I.  It was a fun family afternoon.

Aidens First Big Boo-Boo

As many of you already know that Aiden experienced his first big boo boo and had to have stitches.  We were at the Omniplex in OKC and he was so excited in this little area that was all for younger kids.  There was this John Dear Tractor that he was pumped about "driving".  We let him have a turn but then  a few more kids wanted a turn so we got down and started playing with a few other exhibits they had in that area.  We noticed that there wasnt a line for the tractor any more and asked Aiden if he wanted to get back on it.  Excitedly he took off running to get back on the tractor and that is when one of the learning stations got his eye.  They have a bunch of learning stations throughout the museum that have these wooden square tops on them that are the perfect size to catch Aidens eye.  He went down and Todd and I went running to get to him because we knew it had to hurt.  I was in no way expecting to see blood pouring down his face and it really scared me.  I had no idea if it was skin or his actual eye.  Luckily Todd was pretty calm and held him and I ran to get some wipes to put pressure on his wound to stop the bleeding.  We went through a bunch of wipes and paper towels.  The entire time Aiden isnt mad or crying about how much it hurts all he wants is to go get back on that tractor.  We promised him we wouldnt leave before he got to "ride" the tractor again.  We sat on a bench inside trying to determine what our next move was.  We got some band aids from one of the employees and got the bleeding under control.  He was so happy to get to go back to the play area.  We stayed for at least another two hours and yes he got to get back on the tractor.  We got out to the car and took the Band aid off and realized he was going to have to get stitches.  I called one of my friends who lives in Edmond and she told us exactly where to go.  Luckily I had called on this clinic before and knew exactly how to get there.  When we got there they got us right in.  Unfortunately Aiden knew what was about to happen and he was not happy at all.  I have to say this is probably the worst thing I have experienced in a very long time if not the worst ever.  To hear my child screaming "MOMMY, MOMMY, MOMMY" and to have two people besides you holding your child down while a doctor sticks a needle in his eye and your child is going crazy begging you to hold him and telling the doctor to "STOP IT DOCTOR!", that kind of rates up there as one of my top worst things I have had to do.  Poor Todd was holding his head at one point but another nurse came in and said that he should probably do that since they needed his head to be very still.  So Todd was kind of pushed out of the way and he felt helpless to say the least.  Aiden was more frightened by the nurses holding him down than the pain of the stitches but needless to say it was a little traumatic for him.  As soon as they were done I couldnt pick him up fast enough.  My poor little baby was so scared.  As soon as I had him and Todd held him he calmed down and was fine.  We took him to walmart to buy a new car and he picked out a box of three, two of which he already had  but wanted them really bad so we agreed (and wouldnt you know he lost two of them the very next day and one of them was the one we didnt have) and he was happy and forgot about the pain he was just experiencing.  What amazed Todd and I is that he never cried or said that his eye or head hurt.  So we decided that we didnt want our trip to end on a bad note so we decided to stay another night and go to the zoo today.  My sister, Brad an Brady joined us and we all had a great day at the OKC Zoo!  It was a very memorable weekend and I am sure this is just the first of many big boo-boos to come!

Here are a few pics.  I know it doesnt look all too bad or even that big but man did it bleed a lot and enough to scare me!

I love my baby boy!!!!!
