Big Day in the Anderson family

In the midst of Aiden throwing horrible tantrums, so bad that I have actually cried, he surprised me last night by being such a big boy and poopied on the potty.  This event was not pushed or provoked by me, it was all his idea.  We were at the basketball game last night and he told me he needed to go to the big boy bathroom.  I didnt think he would do it, but I took him any way and of course he changed his mind when we got down there.  So we headed back to the stands to finish watching the game and durning the 4th quarter he told me again he wanted to go to the big boy bathroom so I decided it was worth trying again  because he may just surprise me. Surprise me he did.  I was so happy and making a big deal of it to him and I really thought someone was going to hear us and think something was wrong.  I cant believe he did it at a ball game.  When he was done the game was over and Todd was already on the court talking to people so Aiden and I got to go tell him the good news.  He didnt make as big of a deal about it as me probably because he was talking to one of the booster members.  (oops)  But the guy laughed and had Aiden give him a high five! Then we saw the principle and told her our good news.  Todd just shook his head at me in disbelief.  I was one proud mommy last night that wanted to go to the announcers table and tell every one there!  We have been telling him for months now that when he finally does it we will take and get him a toy.  So at ten o'clock last night we were at Wal-Mart picking out a toy.  He got a couple of Thomas Trains and was very happy.  Now lets see if he will continue to do it!  Hopefully!

Sitting in the Tampa Airport

Ok so Tampa has been good this week a little cold and long meetings but still it has been nice to get to see my work buddies. We have a new team and I love them all. They are all so much fun and absolutely hilarious. The meetings got a little long and repetitive after a while but even so a good trip until today that was. Our company dropped us off at the airport around 12:30 and my flight isnt until 5:20 or so I thought. It was going to be fine because the OKC girls and I were just going to hang out do a little airport shopping and go and have an early dinner together that was until Delta ad to go and change everything on me. I got to the Delta counter to check in and they preceded to tell me that I was flying home on Northwest. Ok so I was in that line for a while but whatever right I am going home. So I go to the Northwest counter only for them to tell me they have no ticket for me. After 15 minutes of waiting on her to go over to Delta and figure out what is going on she comes back to tell me that I must go to the Delta counter to get my ticket printed out. So back I go to Delta's counter. A sweet but unhelpful attendant tells me that my ticket says I am actually going to Cincinnati and then on to Tulsa which is not what my flight schedule that I have in my hands tells me. I am supposed to go through Memphis and then on to Tulsa. She tells me that she can still get me on that Memphis flight but I am going to have to pay the fees. I said no since I was supposed to be on that flight in the first place and that my company is the one who takes care of our expenses and that I am not comfortable making that decision not knowing if my company will reimburse me. So she then sends me to yet another long line at the same Delta counter to be serviced. Thank goodness one of my companies managers came walking by and he stopped to help me. He got our travel agency on the phone and then stayed with me to talk to the Delta lady at the counter. She then tells us that our travel agency never confirmed my ticket and that it is their fault and this manager is on the phone with the travel agency where they are telling him it is his fault. So finally the Delta lady says oh wait a minute it is our fault there was a scheduling change because there is no Cincinnati flight to Tulsa. She was very nice but failed to up me to first class for all my troubles even though the manager asked for them to give that to me. Oh well right I finally have my ticket and I am going home. So then I get to the security check point and because of all of Delta's mistakes I have now been selected to go through extra security measures. So I told security of course that would happen to me. So here I am with still yet another hour and a half to go before I fly that I am praying nothing else will go wrong. Hopefully I will get to sleep in my own bed tonight not an airport!!!! I did keep my cool but was a little upset because needless to say I did not get to have a fun afternoon with the girls and have sat by myself for several hours. Oh well I did decide to create a face book page since I had so much time. Here's to hoping I am coming home.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Brandi.  Today my good friend celebrates her last birthday before the big one!  Brandi and I have recently become good friends.  We met in Sunday School a few years ago but for some odd reason it took us a few years to really get to know each other.  This summer the four of us on a whim decided to head for Mexico and I think that is where I really got to know her better.  She is such a sweet person.  She is very outgoing and loves to just have fun.  She is a great mom to her sweet baby boy Hunter and soon another baby boy!  I love to watch her with Hunter because (she may not believe this part) she has so much patience with Hunter and I admire her for that.  She is always so loving with him and although I never had the privilege of meeting her mom, I know her mom is so proud of the mother she is.  We have found that we have a lot in common and it is a lot of fun to hang out together.  It seems so strange that our paths crossed so many years ago but that God didn't intend for our friendship to start then but 10 years later.  I think God knew I would need it more today than back then.  So here is my birthday wish to you:  May you have more happiness than your hearts desire, may you continue to grow in your walk with the Lord, may your sweet new baby boy bring joy to your already sweet family, may you shop as much as you want, may you live up your last year in your twenties and may our OU Sooners finally win a big game!!!! Some birthday wish...huh?!?!?!?

and the Oscar goes to...

Aiden Anderson for best fake cough and best performance in a drama.  So my son is a lot like his mommy.  He has figured out how to try to con us into giving him what he wants.  The other morning I was getting Aiden's clothes picked out for the day and I heard my bedroom door shut at first I didnt think a thing of it but then I remembered that he is starting to learn to hide things from us.  I ran in to see what he was doing and he had my cough drops out and in his mouth.  I made him spit them out and then tried to explain that those cough drops (to him they are gum drops) are for mommy to help her stop coughing.  So he sat there for a moment and I could see the wheels spinning.  So then he looks at me fake coughs and says "Mommy I need a cough drop."  I laughed of course that he is smart enough to figure that one out.  Then later we were outside and he was riding his four wheeler.  Todd and I had been taking turns chasing him and then we got tired and went to sit down and take a breather.  Aiden asked me to come chase him again and I told him that I was tired and needed a break.  So yet again he sits there for a second and decides who knows exactly what will get me out there.  He positions himself on the four wheeler to where it looks like he is stuck and yells Mommy come help me I am stuck.  Knowing what my drama king was up to I played along and went out to "help" him. I got him back up and his four wheeler and he looked at me and said Now come chase me.  Little stinker he is!!!!  I think this is where my sister might say he is just like me!!!!

Like father like son

Aiden likes to do what his daddy does.  So when Aiden got a Disney Cars (of course) Shaving set for Christmas he was so excited to get to be like his daddy.  The thing I love about the picture of just Aiden is that somewhere we have this picture of Todd in a Superman shirt and undies shaving like his daddy.  I wish I could have found it to post it along with it so you all could see. Besides who doesnt want to see todd in a Superman shirt and Undies!!!!! Maybe I will find it one day!

Christmas and more

So this is more pictures than I have ever posted on one post before but 8 Christmas' = lots of pictures.  Yes 8 Christmas' in 7 days. Its a lot to take in especially this year because Aiden and I both got sick.  That would explain why my husband is so stylish in his white undershirt for Christmas at my dads.  We started to open presents and Aiden got sick all over Todd.  I felt so sorry for the poor baby, he didnt get to really enjoy Christmas that night.  That was on Saturday.  So then on Sunday night we headed out to Glenpool for his family's Christmas.  Aiden wasnt throwing up anymore but now it was the other end.  Oh what fun.  However, he was a little more into opening gifts this night.  On Monday I felt like a bus hit me and had a head cold thing going on.  On Tuesday Aiden and I headed to the doctor and I was really feeling queasy.  The doctor gave us both some medicine to ease our pain but really cant do much when it is viral.  We were just praying that Todd didnt get sick because that would have really hurt his neck!  Thank goodness Todd didnt get sick but my poor step mom did!  and then it hit me.  So you will see a few pics of Aiden laying down and me and him chilling in the chair.  Christmas Eve was our biggest night and always is.  We had three Christmas to enjoy.  First we headed over to Todd's great Aunt Joyce and had some snacks and hot tea.  Aiden got these Disney cars that you can race and he loves them.  His cousin Ashley made him this really soft Disney cars blanket that Todd and I want to steal.  We headed over to Todd's Granny's for Christmas dinner and to let the kids open their gifts.  Then we headed for Bartlesville and had Christmas with my family at my aunts.  We started a new tradition last year and play dirty Santa and it is always fun with my family because you never know what someone is going to bring.  We have a tradition that every year someone gets this can of spam that has been passed around at Christmas for a very long time now and my cousin was so excited to get it this year that I am not so sure that can will be back next year because he really does like spam!  Then we had Christmas morning at home and Aiden was so happy that Santa brought him 'Mr. the King" (a Disney car for those of you who dont already know)  That is all that child wanted for Christmas.  Then he got his four wheeler from us and he was so excited.  Todd and I got to open our gifts but we had to move fast cause Aiden wasnt going to give us too much time.  That evening we went to my moms for Christmas dinner and had a wonderful evening.  Saturday my sister came and got Aiden because I still wasnt feeling all too well and she took him to my dad's side where Santa always comes and visits the kids.  This year Aiden loved Santa and they told me he was so happy to see him.   So that is eight Christmas' in a week!  Long story I know!  Enjoy the pics.

Christmas Cookies

It is tradition at my in-laws to make christmas cookies every year.  So saturday night was the night.  Aiden started out great but then he got really tired of rolling out dough and making shapes.  But he came running back to the kitchen when I mentioned frosting!  But after he figured out sprinkles are fun he was done with the frosting.  One of his cookies got an entire bottle of sprinkles on it.  He had a lot of fun and got mad at us when we had to take the sprinkles away from him.  My mother-in-law couldnt believe that I didnt want to eat his lovely creations and said how sad it was that we didnt want to take them home with us.  They did come home with us but Todd or I couldnt eat them because they were so beautiful!!!!  The funny thing is that when Aiden went to eat one of them, he couldnt do it either!!!!  But nevertheless, we had so much fun and I love this tradition!

First time to make...

...a gingerbread house.  We had so much fun putting this together.  Next year I will construct the house before I bring Aiden in to help me because all he wanted to do was eat the icing.  But I have to say I thought the icing was going to be way too sugary and too much like cake frosting to want to eat a whole bunch of it, but to my surprise it was like cinnamon roll icing.  It was yummy!  My dog enjoyed some of it too because I was letting the house set for the 15 minutes called for before you start decorating and she got up there and ate my little gingerbread people and the gingerbread tree.  So I happened to have this little gingerbread guy in my cabinet and we decided he could use a home.  They gave us plenty of candy and glad for that because I think Aiden ate more candy than candy that made it to the house!  But we had a great time!
